Viboosh Chandrasekar
My name is Viboosh Chandrasekar and I am currently a senior manager of business operations at Love Health. Previously, I was working various finance and strategy roles at Takeoff Technologies. Prior to joining Takeoff Technologies, I was a management consultant at KPMG. Originally from Boston, I graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Finance and Economics. After trying my luck at professional sports, I pursued a career in finance as I was looking for a fast-paced and high-intensity environment. I view myself as a ‘player-coach’ and am more than happy to help with recruiting, resume reviews, case interviews and interview prep. I’m also available to chat about career paths and different roles in finance.
Cassie Fell
My name is Cassie Fell and I am currently a Senior Associate Consultant at Bain & Co. I graduated magna cum laude from UC Santa Barbara in 2022 with a degree in Economics & Accounting. Prior to Bain, I interned at Deloitte in Audit & Assurance, which was the typical professional pipeline for UCSB accounting students. While in undergrad, I was a member of 180 Degrees Consulting, a social impact consultancy. I found myself energized by my work with 180, which inspired me to apply for consulting roles for my full-time job. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Bain, as I have gotten to experience virtually every industry imaginable in only 2 years. I am passionate about helping people from other non-traditional target schools break into the dynamic and exciting world of consulting (at Bain SF, the number of UCSB alums has grown from 1 to 5 during my 2 years here!).
Dylan Cook
My name is Dylan Cook and I am currently a private equity associate at AVALT, a private equity firm based in Boston, MA. I started my career as an associate at BCG in our principal investors and private equity (PIPE) practice. I attended Vanderbilt University and graduated summa cum laude in 2022 with a B.S. in both Public Policy and Human & Organizational Development (HOD). I pursued a career in Consulting out of undergrad to keep my career options open and determine what field would be a strong long-term fit (which ultimately led me into Private Equity). More than happy to discuss all things recruiting and day-to-day for Private Equity and Consulting.
Drew Duff
My name is Drew Duff and I am currently a Senior Consultant at Deloitte, based out of New York City. My journey began when I moved to Brazil to live and work for several years at the U.S. Department of State. Around this same period, I chose to double major in Economics & International Affairs at Wake Forest University. Consulting offered the prospect of addressing complex social, financial, and health issues through private-sector solutions. I found this opportunity fascinating and consequently, at Deloitte I now focus on helping clients make strategic choices to solve challenges within the Financial Services and Life Sciences industries. In addition, as a member of Deloitte’s ALPFA committee (Association for Latino Professionals) I have worked hands-on to champion dozens of students and professionals from non-traditional backgrounds. I would be happy to chat on anything related to the consulting life and recruiting process.
Ramid Kadirov
Hi, my name is Ramid Kadirov and I am an international student and currently a rising senior at the University of Richmond, interning at Pointe Advisory which is a strategy consulting firm in Washington, DC. Prior to pivoting to consulting, I worked at Credit Suisse in their investment banking division. After my internship at Credit Suisse, I decided to change my career trajectory to management consulting due to its exposure to diverse projects and clients as well as its analytic component. I can talk more about my experience in finance and consulting if you are interested in deciding which one is best for you. Please, reach out to me if you have any questions regarding navigating the recruiting process in consulting or finance, especially as an international student.
Sam Margolis
My name is Sam Margolis, and I am a Consultant at Deloitte in the Human Capital Practice. I have experience developing Workforce Strategy solutions, across industries including financial services, consumer products, life sciences, and industrials. I began my journey with Deloitte as an intern in 2019, and returned full-time in 2022. Upon my graduation from Vanderbilt University in 2020, I co-founded BrightPath Tutors, a non-profit that provides free, tailored virtual tutoring to K-12 students in Nashville and NYC. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I'm happy to chat more about navigating the consulting recruitment process, the day-to-day life of a consultant, and my experiences in both the non-profit sector and consulting!
Austin Peters
I am currently a private equity associate at Comvest Partners in West Palm Beach, Florida. Prior to joining Comvest Partners, I was an analyst at Deloitte Consulting where I focused on private equity due diligence engagements. I began my career at a consumer goods startup in China called Laiba Beverages. At Indiana University, I studied finance and Chinese. I grew up on the southside of Indianapolis.
While in college, I explored a wide range of career options including consulting, investment banking, private equity, and startups. I ultimately chose consulting for its interesting work, fun culture, and exit opportunities to private equity (as well as a myriad of other roles). I am happy to discuss the challenges of choosing a career field, recruiting for consulting, and breaking into private equity from a non-banking background. Feel free to reach out to the PFF general email or shoot me a note directly!
Josh Wollman
Like many folks, I was unsure what I wanted to do with my career when I was a student. It wasn’t until I discovered consulting that I realized there was a home for people like me who want to explore different industries, work on challenging projects, and interface with high-level leadership at some of the world’s largest companies, non-profits and government institutions. Since graduating, I have worked at and interviewed for a number of the top global consulting firms. Currently, I am a management consultant at Kearney aligned to their health practice and my goal is to help demystify the world of consulting and the intimidating recruitment process.
Danny Simmons
I am an associate on the portfolio operations team at L Catterton, a global consumer-focused private equity firm. In my role at L Catterton I work to enhance investment returns by driving operational improvement in our portfolio companies. I was previously a consultant at Kearney in their Strategic Operations practice. I graduated from the University of Richmond in 2018 where I studied finance and management. I chose an initial career in consulting because I was excited by the idea of working on a wide variety of business problems across different industries. Consulting provides an awesome foundation of skills to launch into almost any business career, so it's a great option if you don't know exactly what type of job you want to pursue. I know the idea of "consulting" can be super vague and opaque, so I'm happy to chat about what a career as a consultant looks like, guide you through the various types of consulting, interview prep, or really anything that might be helpful. Don't be afraid to reach out!
Brittany Salese
I am a Governance & Strategic Transformation Associate at Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking (SGCIB) in NYC focusing on Compliance Governance, Issues Management, and Reporting. I graduated from the University of Richmond with a BSBA double majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Management, Leadership Studies, and a minor in Latin American, Latino, and Iberian Studies. I started my career as a Financial Services Consultant at KPMG prior to transitioning to the Compliance Risk Assessment team at SGCIB before moving into my current role. I can speak to breaking into the Finance Industry with a wide range of interests, coming from a non-target school, the benefits of starting out as a consultant, and the differences between consulting and Industry.
Kyle Doran
My name is Kyle Doran. I am currently an Associate with Nonantum Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in Boston. Prior to joining Nonantum, I was a consultant for McKinsey & Co in Atlanta. I graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2018 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in Entrepreneurship and Management. While attending Johns Hopkins I was a member and captain of the basketball team. I did not know I wanted to get into consulting or finance early on in college and majored in a completely different field of study. I ended up at McKinsey through cold calling and emailing current and former employees. I owe it to all of them to help as many people as possible. I am always happy to chat through your next steps and hope that once you land your position that you will do the same.
Dennis Cherian
Hey! My name is Dennis Cherian and I’m an analyst at RRE Ventures. I graduated in 2021 from Villanova University, where I studied finance. I’m originally from East Brunswick, NJ but I have previously lived in Philadelphia, Austin, and Dallas. I chose to go into consulting after graduation in order to get exposure to different industries and travel to some new places (then covid happened, so I got to see some zany new Zoom backgrounds instead). Now I work in venture capital and help invest in Pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A startups. Happy to chat with anyone who wants to break into venture or start a startup.
Daisy Wu
Hi there, I'm Daisy Wu! I am currently an strategy management consultant with Humans Matter. Previously, I was an investment operations associate at MarketX Ventures, a private capital investment platform focusing on pre-IPO and growth-stage deals. I graduated from the Michigan State University in 2021 with a master's in accounting and information systems degree. I pursued a career in finance because I am genuinely curious about the intersection of capital investment and social impact. As a candidate from a non-target school, a woman, an international student, and a person of color, I am able to provide advice on how to get your foot in the door as a minority, leverage the PFF network, or join and thrive at a VC/ PE startup or consultancy.
Val Ayer
My name is Val Ayer. I'm a 4th year consultant in Deloitte's Strategy Consulting practice - I've worked on a number of different types of engagements from full-on strategy development and transformations, to customer segmentations, to integration planning for a merger. I pursued a career in consulting because I wanted to be directly involved in the decision-making process for issues that are top-of-mind for executives, while driving real impact. Prior to Deloitte, I graduated from Boston University in 2018, a decidedly non-target school for Deloitte, so I know what it's like to apply without the robust interview support a typical target school applicant would receive. I'm 100% happy to chat about anything from the philosophical (e.g., "why consulting?") to the nitty gritty (e.g., "what is a case interview?", "how do I go about practicing for a case interview?"). All you have to do is reach out!
Tim Peyser
My name is Tim Peyser, and I currently work at Piper Sandler covering financial services as an investment banker. Previously, I spent two years at RSM advising private equity clients in a consulting capacity. I joined RSM after graduating from the University of Richmond ('19) where I majored in international business and finance with a minor in French. I have worked in a number of roles in finance from boutique venture capital to Morgan Stanley's wealth management practice and would be happy to be a resource to you.
Anne Alexander
My name is Anne Alexander and I’m a consultant in Accenture’s M&A Life Science Strategy group. I assist life science firms with strategic transactions that transform them into more successful entities. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a double major in Business Honors & Finance. A restless academic, I decided that a career in consulting would slate my thirst for continual learning by exposing me to a broad range of industries and functions. Although I went into recruiting slightly underprepared, I quickly learned the process to secure multiple offers. As one of Accenture’s I&D recruiting chairs, I’m passionate about helping others navigate the challenges of consulting and the recruiting process. I try to empower my clients, peers, and students with the knowledge that they can achieve their goals, whatever they might be.
Patrick Gallagher
Hi, I am a Consultant in Deloitte's Strategy practice based in Charlotte, aligned primarily to the Financial Services industry. I graduated from Davidson College in 2018 with a degree in Economics. Consulting attracted me because of the focus on problem-solving, mix of quantitative and qualitative analysis, exposure to senior leadership in various industries, and breadth of experiences available to practitioners throughout their careers. If you're interested in the consulting industry, the recruiting process, case interviews, specifically about Deloitte, or anything in between, I am more than happy to connect and have significant experience helping students who have been in your shoes.
Connor Flanagan
My name is Connor Flanagan and I am currently a Program Manager at HQ, a Digital Currency Group subsidiary. I was previously an Associate on the Aladdin Implementations team at BlackRock in New York City, where I worked for ~4.5 years and interned as a Summer Analyst on the Aladdin Client Services (ACS) team. I graduated from the University of Richmond in May of 2018 and started back on ACS the following July. At BlackRock, I specialized in supporting our Trading and Execution Management tools across all of our institutional clients. Across both my roles, I gained expertise in financial technology consulting, client engagement and product management. I believe that a career in FinTech is extremely valuable, as it provides non-stop learning opportunities in a fast-paced, creative and challenging environment. If you have any interest in learning more about my career path, or would like to enter into a career in either FinTech or Consulting, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Aris Sevastianos
Hi, my name is Aris Sevastianos. I was born and raised in a Greek-American household in metro St. Louis, and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Minor in French. Before my current work in venture capital, I spent time in strategy consulting (Strategy& - Retail & Consumer Private Equity Value Creation) and investment banking (Truist Securities - Power & Renewables coverage). In college, I co-ran and sold a Forbes-featured EdTech startup as CFO and did internships at a hedge fund and public accounting firm. Having formally navigated the VC, strategy consulting, IB, and public accounting recruitment processes, I can provide candid insight on each process, as well as my transition between the respective fields. Finally, I can help you build a valuable network from the ground up (something I had to do quickly). I’d love to pay it forward as a friend and mentor while combating such a pressing issue in our society.
